Event Associate – Change for Kids – New York, NY

Candidate Requirements

At least 1 year experience working in a non-profit environment, ideally in an events coordination role
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent attention to detail and follow through on projects
An understanding of good customer service
Strong persuasive writing skills
Experience with CRM data entry a plus
Highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work evening and weekend events as needed

Job Responsibilities

Organizational Events:

Under the supervision of the Director of Development coordinate organization-wide events including:

Super Chefs (October Annual Benefit)
Support of Event Committee
Coordination of event logistics and support of celebrity chefs, vendors and in-kind donors
Drafting of sponsorship proposals and recognition
Management of auction and other fundraising platforms
Responsible for tracking income and expense for event (including tickets, tables, donations and other in-kind donations)
Coordination of volunteers and day-of staffing
Penguin Party (February Junior Council Benefit)
Cultivation events including Board Holiday Party, Principals’ Breakfasts and sponsor and volunteer recognition events

Community Events:

Develop and manage program for Community Events
Act as CFK point person at each event and provide on-site support (i.e. Soul Cycle event, Poker Party, golf events, etc.)

Communications:

Coordinate with Communications Manager on promotion of volunteer and fundraising events through social media, email, strategic mailings and other online sources

Data and Gift Maintenance:

Maintenance of online fundraising pages associated with events
Coordination with internal staff on proper acknowledgement of gifts
Event management within organizational CRM including ticket and table purchases, donations, budget tracking, auction items, contact information, volunteers
Volunteer management with organizational CRM including contact information, time sheets, opportunities, events and projects, biographical data

Junior Council:

Act as CFK representative at Junior Council meetings and Committee meetings
Report notes from meetings to Director of Development
Communicate CFK policies and suggestions at Junior Council meetings
Communicate and answer questions from Junior Council Executive Committee on regular basis
Assist in coordination of Junior Council events such as Penguin Party and additional fundraising events
Work with Communications Manager on Junior Council event marketing and communications
