Full Access was founded in 2002 in Oregon as a part of a statewide mandate to establish brokerages to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive access to the services for which they qualify. We excel in our knowledge about local disability issues and are committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to control their own lives. We support clients and their families to figure out the complicated social service world in order to access housing, work, volunteer experiences, friendships, educational and self-development opportunities and recreational experiences. The Opportunity
Full Access has grown over the past ten years beyond anything we anticipated. This is an exciting time for us. We have reached the point where, for optimal service delivery, we are setting up a new nonprofit organization in Bend to handle work in central Oregon. Full Access, the current nonprofit organization, will cover our work in Lane County and will be headquartered in Eugene. Our founding Executive Director, Margaret Theisen, will retire in June. Thus we are searching for a new leader here in Eugene. The next Executive Director will be in charge of a $1.4 million agency, predominantly state funded, a long time dedicated and skilled staff, and will be able to focus on developing our work in Lane County and expanding the number of clients we support.
The Position
The Executive Director serves as the principal liaison and agency representative to Full Access’ funding agencies, clients, community partners and other primary stakeholders. Full Access has created a dynamic, flexible, and creative work environment that brings joy and support to those who work there as well as to our clients. The next Executive Director will meet these criteria:
Be a visionary leader who supports and empowers staff to collaborate, strategize and implement.
Have knowledge, experience and understanding of the intellectual and developmental disability world.
Be energized by the prospect of community outreach and advocacy on a state level with a passion for the work of Full Access.
Have experience effectively creating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, as well as negotiating contracts with government agencies.
Have knowledge and experience in nonprofit leadership and how nonprofits work.
Present a calm and consistent demeanor with critical thinking skills.
Be approachable and a good listener.
Be articulate and able to deliver strong presentations, verbally and in writing.
Fit well into an organization that is known and celebrated for its family friendly and flexible work environment and community collaboration.
Possess the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
Be creative yet organized with impeccable attention to detail.
Be experienced in fiscal and personnel management and understand budget development and management and standard nonprofit financial reports.
Have a Bachelor’s degree. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
