WHO WE ARE Generation Infocus (GI) is a STEM/Arts connection after school and summer project based learning organization which believes that positive social change and academic performance acceleration can be achieved through hands-on minds-on STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Artistic Design and Math) focused programming. GI is redefining the focus of after school time and summer camp learning programming. We are committed to intentionally providing learning opportunities and career exposure that enhance students exposure and interest in STEAM focused 21st century job opportunities.
WHAT WE ARE SEEKING GI is currently seeking instructors to teacher our Fashion Design and Technology Classes throughout the school year during our after school, school day and summer programs.
REQUIRMENTS: -Able to teach sewing to students school aged students 3rd -12th grade
-Extensive knowledge of patternmaking, draping, garment construction, and fitting.
-Expertise in the design of garment collections as it pertains to concept origination, research methods and resources, collection design, styling and presentation. -Able to develop lesson plans that incorporate fashion and technology -Ability to create a positive learning and working studio environment. -Ability to work well with students in providing technical expertise and mentoring them in the development and construction of creative designs for runway presentation. -Able to learn how to use Lillypad technology to integrate technology into fashion -Ability to inventory studio supplies and make needs recommendations to program director. -Able to make jewelry such as earrings, pendants and bracelets -Expertise in textiles. -Will develop fashion shows -MUST BE A FRIENDLY PERSON
-Willing to learn wearable technology
QUAIIFICATIONS: –Prefer person with 3+ years experince sewing full clothing pieces
-College degree prefered but will accept junior/senior college students pursuing a degree in fashion/design. Great job for SCAD college student!
