Sitters Without Borders, Inc. (SWOB) is a first of its kind non-profit organization which offers free weekly babysitting sessions to low-income mothers who are attending college. SWOB provides support throughout Greater Boston Area using local volunteers who believe in assisting families with childcare responsibilities to help parents pursue higher education.

SWOB is seeking a part-time grant writer.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing the preparation and submission of grant proposals based on foundation’s guidelines.
Maintain a sound knowledge of the organization’s mission, program, target population and strategic vision. Use this information to better prepare proposals and other written communications.
May include budgets and necessary supporting materials.

Qualifications:

At least three years successful nonprofit grant writing experience.
Prior experience in writing successful grants and reports; other fundraising experience also useful.
Writing ability including excellent spelling, grammar, and editing skills; effective business, technical and persuasive writing styles.
Extensive knowledge of the grant writing and reporting processes.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Superior proof-reading, information gathering and listening skills.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office; previous database experience a plus.
