Infants need supportive relationships and opportunities for quality experiences. Toddlers enjoy using their senses and enhanced motor skills to explore the world around them. Preschoolers need opportunities to express themselves, listen to others, feel, move and manipulate.

YOU can help create the environment and provide the support needed for young children to grow. FranDelJA Enrichment Center is looking for the right Lead teacher to join our team. If you are a strong teacher with experience working with young children in a childcare environment and experience leading others you may the one we need to add to our team.

We are looking for a talented teacher familiar with Project Approach to work with our Preschool Team. AND we need a nurturing teacher that specializes in Infants and Toddlers.

We use Creative Curriculum with Project Approach studies, Teaching Pyramid for social-emotional competence and Program for Infant Toddler Care with our Infants and Toddlers. Working with San Francisco First Five, teachers receive coaching and training through the Preschool for All initiative. Teachers in our program focus on building strong relationships with and between children and their families.

Applicants for this position will be fully qualified for the Department of Education Childcare Teacher’s Permit and prior experience working with preschool age children and/or infants and toddlers. Because we receive funding and support from the California Department of Education, teachers at our center must understand and implement the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) and the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS).

Hours: According to center needs — current opening is full time, Monday – Friday

Based on experience and education our salary range is $17.00 – 19.00

All teachers are responsible for the general supervision, management and assurance of safety, security and well-being of each child in the program. Teachers provide a nurturing atmosphere that enhances the children’s social emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Lead teachers work with children, their team and administration to support smooth operation of the program.

Minimum Requirements: Must be 18 years or older. One year leadership experience in a center setting with young children. Min. 12 units completed in Early Childhood, Child Development, a current California Department of Education Child Development Teacher Permit or an Associate, Baccalaureate, or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (and apply for a CDE Teacher Permit). Pass physical exam, TB test, Criminal Record Clearance and Fingerprints and all other state license requirements. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective, working relationships with children, parents, and staff. Maintain and support program policies and procedures. Expressed commitment to the program and its philosophies during the term of your employment.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit/stand both in/outdoors for prolonged periods. Ability to participate in regular standing, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, crouching, grasping, reaching above, and below the shoulder. Ability to lift/carry 40 lbs. Ability to multi-task in an energy demanding and often noisy environment. Ability to operate computer and complete other repetitive motion tasks.
