Lifetime Adventures Instructor (Hourly) – After-School All Stars Las Vegas – Las Vegas, NV

ABOUT LIFETIME ADVENTURES:

Lifetime Adventures is a specialty program operated by the After-School All-Stars Las Vegas. Lifetime Adventures uses environmental education and outdoor experiences as a platform to instill confidence, respect and teamwork in its youth participants.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for instructing the Lifetime Adventures after-school program twice a week at specific school sites. In this position, the Instructor will focus on building positive relationships with the youth participants while instructing them on environmental education curriculum. Duties include teaching two classes per week (1 hour per class) & assisting with weekend field trips. Rate of pay between $15.00-$25.00 depending on experience. First Aid & CPR certification preferred.

Core Functions:

Instruct Lifetime Adventures program
Ensure a safe learning environment for all participants

Specific Functions:

Prepares for & teaches Lifetime Adventures program based on an established curriculum.
Serves as a liaison between Lifetime Adventures participants & ASAS Program Manager.
Identifies and responds to participant behavioral issues in an appropriate manner.
Assists in revising curriculum by actively pursuing activities to incorporate.
Participates in staff training and meetings.
Assists in the planning & preparation for camping & day trips.

Qualifications:

Passionate and enthusiastic about working with youth, teaching & the environment

Knowledge of environmental and nature related topics

Ability to work collaboratively with Program Manager, school district staff, and parents
Strong communication skills
Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups
Must pass a background check.
Flexible hours
Commit to working 6-8 weekends during the year
