In order for In Reach to be successful at helping all students reach this goal, it prepares them for college, work and life.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, College Access Programs (MCAP) ensures that all In Reach students receive the required academic supports and counseling they need to ensure they are on track to graduate from high school and are eligible-and-competitive for college. The MCAP will work with a cadre of partners and community stakeholders to accomplish this goal. The MCAP will supervise and collaborate with site coordinators at partner schools which includes managing 21st Century Community Learning Center activities per grant requirements to ensure that everyone is on track to become college and career ready.
Position Responsibilities
Student Relationships:
Develop and maintain relationships with students by demonstrating compassion, respect and high expectations
Facilitate academic and youth development programming for K-12 students that will enable them to be college and career ready
Program Design, Implementation and Evaluation:
Manage all off site programs to create a safe, structured and fun environment for students and their program facilitators
Plan and implement student academic improvement and support plans by reviewing transcripts, progress reports and evaluation results
Identify rewarding enrichment programs, internships and summer resources
Collect and analyze data and make program recommendations for current and future program years
Plan and execute annual events
Assist with the development of program policies and procedures
Partner Relationship Management: Partner Schools, Parents, Businesses, Colleges and Universities
Manage and build relationships with all In Reach partners
Manage and build relationships with parents
Assist with planning and implementation of Family Academies
Plan and execute student recruitment presentations
Cultivate relationships and communicate with family, school and community stakeholders as necessary to further student successes
Create partnerships with colleges and universities, vocational programs, and businesses as needed to facilitate a college and career ready process, including attending local and regional meetings, conferences, college fairs and forums
Site Leadership & Support:
Support and supervise Site Coordinators, afterschool program facilitators and others who may work with students
Support programming across site program areas
Perform additional duties as needed
Candidate Requirements:
Dynamic, team-oriented, confident self starter
Enjoys communicating with a range of individuals on various levels and from a variety of backgrounds
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
3-5 years of experience working with underserved and underrepresented students and managing afterschool, college access programs/projects with proven track record of successful relationships and program impact particularly 21st Century programs
Strong written, organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of K-12 academic environments
Demonstrated sensitivity to a diverse student and family population
Demonstrated ability to create engaging and relevant activities for students and their families connected to college and career readiness
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technology platforms and databases quickly
Background Check, Fingerprinting and Driving Record required
Frequent travel between local sites is required and some evenings and weekend work
Fluency (written and spoken) in Spanish helpful
