The Middle School:
The Middle School, strongly rooted in Quaker philosophy and recommended best practices, offers a unique experience for preadolescents and adolescents. Students grow academically and personally through a process of active exploration and problem solving, taking on increasing responsibility for themselves and their learning. The experience provides a thoughtful balance of required and elective classes based on exemplary instruction for middle level learners. The heart of the Middle School lies in our strong social curriculum, which builds community and fosters authentic interpersonal relationships among students and staff.
One of the greatest strengths of the Middle School is the community of talented, dedicated, and collegial teachers. The School is fortunate to attract outstanding educators who see teaching as a calling, as an art, and as an opportunity to nurture the whole child. CFS staff possess strong academic backgrounds and enthusiastically embrace the habit of lifelong learning. We welcome new teachers to the School who share similar educational goals and with whom Carolina Friends School’s philosophy and practice resonates.
