The appointed candidate will join an innovative school and technology department that has won awards in the area of multimedia and has an international reputation using virtual environments in schools. We also value a focus on participatory social media, citizenship, and safety. The Technology Integrator will play a key role in enhancing curricular innovation, training and supporting teachers, as well as advancing school-wide initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of educational technology, excitement about working with middle school students, and be extremely ambitious in building relationships and programs.
Job Description:
Support fifth-eighth teachers in using technology to enhance:
Instruction
Differentiation
Assessment
21st Century Thinking
Collaborate with department chairs toward tech integration that transforms learning
Provide formal and informal professional development to all EMS faculty & staff
Offer “just in time” training, one-on-one or in small groups as needed
Support development of the 1:1 laptop program
Consult on and support the implementation of a new Learning Management System
Teach technology classes and electives
Identify opportunities for curricular and/or instructional innovation
Work with technology department and STEAM initiative as well as other school-wide initiatives
Work closely with the Technology Director and department in curricular planning as well as giving input on budgets, hardware and software purchasing, and management of resources
This is a 10-month position. The Technology Integrator will report to the Middle School Head and be a member of the technology department
Desired Skills and Experience:
Interest and experience in working with middle school students
Deep knowledge and experience with educational technology, especially multimedia, virtual worlds, Google Apps for Education, maker spaces, Learning Management Systems
Interest in constructive learning environments with value on tinkering, inquiry, creation, play, and reflection
At least 3-5 years of educational technology experience, independent school experience a plus
Experience with and knowledge of curriculum development
