Who We are and What We Expect:
DC International School is an innovative middle/high school created by five elementary language immersion public charter schools in DC to create a pathway through secondary school for their students and families. DCI will enable students to continue their language immersion in French, Spanish, and Mandarin while participating in inquiry-based education through the International Baccalaureate Middle Years and Diploma Programmes. We have a 1:1 technology program (all students have Chromebooks) and we integrate online tools into all classes. We will have grades 6 through 9 (MYP 1, 2, 3 and 4) for the 2016-2017 school year.We will grow into a 6-12 middle and high school.
We expect faculty and staff to embrace the rigor and commitment necessary to build, maintain, and expand a shared culture and vision. Your educational values should include a commitment to social justice, environmental stewardship, diversity, internationalism, and interdisciplinary education as reflected in the International Baccalaureate curriculum framework. We expect that all of our students can achieve academically at the very highest levels. Our mission statement reflects our core values: DC International School fosters inquiring, engaged, knowledgeable and caring secondary students who are multi-lingual, culturally competent, and committed to proactively creating a socially just and sustainable world.
