Operations Director – Point Foundation – Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview

Oversee the administrative operations of the organization; to ensure that the highest standards are achieved and maintained through the strategic plan goals and objectives. Facilitate inter-departmental coordination of specified initiatives. Serve as a liaison to Point’s various boards. Enhance the internal organization processes allowing Point to continue to grow and fulfill its mission in an effective and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee reporting and monitoring of organizational projects with all departments as assigned by the supervisor

Review working practices to determine if successful and if not, recommend alternatives

Responsible for organization strategic plan that includes preparing and managing the overall plan

Implement, activate and follow thru on strategic plan initiatives

Lead staff member serving on the Diversity and Leadership Ad Hoc Committees

Through information received, ensure that issues are being addressed and processes developed to resolve the specific feedback received

Analyze, implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the organization, focusing on systems/process improvement, including SharePoint, promoting regular and ongoing opportunities for all staff to give feedback on operations

Board relations that include

New Board member process

Board member follow up when required

Board communications and updates

Board meetings/gatherings coordination

Work with the executive staff team to prepare and submit Board Committee Reports board meeting packets for dissemination

Represent Point in an executive role at events and conferences, as assigned by supervisor

Other assignments as required by supervisor

Requirements

Strong operational and leadership role experience

Strong interpersonal skills to drive others to meet their deadlines

Excellent people skills, with the ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team

Flexible and able to multi-task; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions, demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems

Ability to point to tangible examples of reporting and program measurement and evaluation

Demonstrates integrity, strives for excellence and has experience leading others to new levels of effectiveness

Passionate about Point’s mission and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values to external and internal constituents

Action oriented and enjoys working hard and looks for challenges

Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator

Fundraising experience with the ability to engage the development team to reach and assist in their goals

Program experience and the ability to engage the program team to reach and assist in their goals

Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings

Remain focused in the face of pressure, delivers against timelines and not intimidated by tasks/time limitations
