Operations Manager – The International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity – New York, NY

The International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity is a major new global initiative engaging world leaders, policy makers and researchers to develop a renewed and compelling case and financing pathway for achieving equal educational opportunity for children and young people.

The Commission will bring together the best research and policy analysis on the actions necessary to increase investment in concrete, relevant learning outcomes that have a positive impact on economic and social development. While the entire education system will be considered starting in the early years, the Commission will pay particular attention to the provision of basic education and its role in improving life chances and generating equal opportunities for young people in low and middle income countries.

Key responsibilities include:

Work with the Director of the Commission to oversee all deliverable timetables for projects
Oversee consultants, service providers and researcher to ensure contracts, payments and deliverables are met on time
Oversee areas of the budget in collaboration with the Director
Oversee preparation and submission of expense reports on a timely basis and aligned with budget priorities
Maintains office services by organizing office operations and procedures; liaising with the fiscal sponsor on preparing payroll and new hires; overseeing correspondence; designing filing systems; reviewing contracts; assigning and monitoring clerical functions.
Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing equipment procurement.
Manages financial objectives in collaboration with the Director, by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Required skills/experience:

Proven office management, administrative or assistant experience
Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Proficiency in MS Office
