The Lang School is a progressive K-12 school for twice-exceptional students – students who are both academically gifted and have learning challenges. We are looking for a paraprofessional to work 1:1 with a middle-school student who presents with impulsivity, distractibility, OCD, anxiety, and dyslexia. The right person will have university-level training in psychology and experience working with special needs children in a school or milieu setting. This individual will also have training/experience with the implementation of behavior plans using a PBS approach; present with an confident, friendly demeanor; be flexible in their thinking and be open to supervision in their practice; and be able to be kind, low-key and firm in the face of challenging behaviors. The position is full-time (Monday through Friday 8:15 until 3:45) with paid DoE holidays and sick leave, pays $20-$25/hour depending on training and experience, and begins immediately (ending in mid June). The Lang School is located in the financial district, 1/2 block from the Bowling Green 4/5 stop.
