The Preschool Program Manager is a vital member of AcroSports’ Management Team, working collaboratively with other program and administrative Managers to continue the development and oversight of AcroSports’ programming. The Preschool Program curriculum is a movement-based, developmentally-focused program utilizing gymnastics fundamentals and age-appropriate gymnastic equipment, as well as equipment unique to AcroSports. The program engages an average of 600 students per week, with a staff of 10-15 coaches, depending on the session.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
BA or BS in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related field.
A background in physical education; gymnastics experience preferred.
A background in child development preferred.
Minimum one year’s previous management experience required; 2+ preferred.
Ability to create, manage and adapt a broad range of classes in coordination with Managers and coaching staff.
Ability to instruct preschool programs.
Experience in recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
Basic familiarity with gymnastic safety procedures and gym etiquette.
Focus on customer service and strong communication skills with highly diverse populations.
Functional knowledge of MS Office applications and the ability to learn proprietary registration software.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong teaching and presentation skills.
Familiarity with local community preschool and early child development resources
Familiarity with budgeting and fiscal management.
Oversight
PreSchool Program oversight involves these main components:
Staffing:
Recruit coaches. This includes defining the job, requirements, training standards, hours needed & likely venues for recruits along with preparing & distributing recruitment materials.
Hire coaches. This is an ongoing job, done in consultation with the coordinator & potential involvement by other coaches & admin staff.
Orient new staff to the policies and procedures.
Train new coaches on our obstacle courses, skills vocabulary & safe spotting.
Staff Management & Development:
Plan, design, staff and/or present coaching clinics & workshops, identify professional development opportunities, and coordinate certifications for staff.
Approve staff time sheets in preparation for bi-weekly payroll.
Monitor staff performanc; coaching, counseling, and/or disciplining when needed.
Provide ongoing mentorship & feedback so coaches feel valued & important.
Set individual goals, perform annual reviews and propose raises & bonuses.
Establish regular communications to address issues as they arise.
Programming:
Develop creative and value-added classes, programs and activities for students/families.
Schedule classes & staff.
Oversee class enrollment to make schedule diverse and cost efficient.
Work with the Youth and Performance Program managers to develop appropriate curriculum goals for successful transition between programs. Responsible for working cross departmentally to achieve curriculum development goals and student progress.
Assist in placement of students in appropriate classes
Maintain program documentation (forms , lesson plans, incident/accident reports, monthly reports, attendance, and sign in / sign-out sheets).
Keep the program unique with lively development, creative curriculum, lesson plans, lesson plans, obstacle courses & appropriate equipment.
Maintain and continue to improve the quality of the classes
Budgeting:
In consultation with the Executive Director, create & manage the Preschool Program budget.
Review budget #s monthly and make any necessary adjustments.
Purchase & assess the need for new equipment.
Work with Management Team to recommend shared program, overhead, and capital expenditures for the organizational budget.
Customer Service, Marketing & Business Development:
Respond to all client concerns or questions in a timely manner.
Participate in special projects & events. (Halloween, City Circus, Outreach and marketing events)
Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information
Develop a network of relations with community resources to enhance opportunities in and exposure of the program.
Attend weekly Managers’ Meetings, currently held on Wednesdays at 1:30pm.
Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
Teaching
The Pre School Program Manager is expected to teach a minimum of 12 hours per week, and to preferably balance those teaching hours & class types to maximize personal experience & involvement. The Preschool Program Manager is typically the lead coach on Saturday mornings, so availability to teach during that time is preferred. “Teaching hours” would include preschool classes, camps, & specialty workshops.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time (40 hrs/week), exempt position based in San Francisco.
