Program Associate, Office of Grant Development / Partnership – Detroit Public Schools – Detroit, MI

The Program Associate 1, (12 Months) Office of Grant Development and Partnership will support and facilitate school and district-level grant activities including researching grant opportunities, developing grant proposals, developing timelines and preparing budgets. This position will also convene meetings and planning sessions with schools and external organizations and participate in conferences to ensure compliance with grant requirements.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Deputy Executive Director, Development, Parent and Community Engagement:

Support and assist schools to secure foundation and grant support for activities to promote academic achievement
Convene meetings with District leadership to evaluate interest in pursuing proposed grant opportunities
Research grant opportunities and identify new government, corporate, foundational and private funding prospects that fit the district’s 10-Point Management Plan/Strategic Plan/Academic Plan
Provide support for grant proposal development
Prepare approved grant budgets, and amendments in accordance with the District’s budgetary requirements
Convene meetings at the school level and with external organizations to articulate the timelines of activities related to funding, budget, audit, personnel, reporting requirements and other responsibilities and requirements of various grant proposals
Conduct planning sessions to advise grant awarded schools and units of processes to implement the program under the terms and conditions by which the grant was awarded
Participate in state, federal, and national organizations, committees and conferences for professional development purposes and for the purpose of articulating the compliance requirements of related grant programs
Turnkey donations, grants and partnership requests to appropriate unit/school/office
Maintain current log of all activities, grants, donations and partnership requests and the status of the same
Perform other duties as assigned that are in compliance with funding sources
