The Job:

As Program Coordinator, you will manage logistics and facilitation for Houston programs and be the point-person for independent contractors, volunteers and program recipients to answer event-related and general inquiries. You will participate in community outreach efforts, representing the Foundation at local community events as requested and distributing organization and program materials. You will also be responsible for various administrative tasks, such as maintaining a contact list of contractors, volunteers and community leaders and tracking program data. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Director.

Details:

Lead scheduling and coordination of programs under the supervision of the Program Director. Be point-person for independent contractors, House of Blues venue staff (i.e.-production, security, wait staff), volunteers and program recipients on all event logistics.
Execute program promotional strategies provided by the Program Director, including distributing promotional materials to schools and community organizations for possible program participants, and providing input to Marketing Team on content for social media, newsletter, website, etc.
Provide operational support on day of programs. Juggling multiple duties, you will manage event set-up and tear-down, supervise volunteers, liaise with House of Blues staff, present venue safety rules and procedures to audience members, and coordinate the documentation of the event through photo and video.
Develop community relationships under the supervision of the Program Director. Conduct site visits to prospective and current grantees. Identify, develop and foster relationships for strategic growth of the organization in your community. Represent the Foundation at community and venue-based events through public speaking and networking.
Maintain program statistics, including data entry.
Participate in required staff calls and meetings.

What you bring:

Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
Sound judgment, professionalism and a positive “can-do” attitude. Ability to work independently and complete job requirements without direct supervision.
Ability to work with diverse groups of people
A personal car or regular access to a car, along with a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance, and a willingness to travel in the community for site visits and events. Mileage is reimbursed per federal rates for work related travel (not regular commuting).
A personal laptop and cell phone. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience working with students in grades 5-12
Knowledge of the music and arts industry and local community partners and experts preferred
Experience in production, theater and/or performance preferred
Flexibility to work some early morning, evenings and/or weekends for programs and special events as needed
