ABOUT THE JOB:
We are looking for an energetic person to join our Provider Services team as a Quality Improvement Coach to work with selected programs that are participating in the Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS). This position will be responsible for providing on-site coaching to family child care and center-based providers, attending required collaborative coaching meetings, maintaining and submitting required documentation and reports, providing TA and career advice to the child care workforce, and assisting with the planning and implementation of quality improvement services at BANANAS. BANANAS has partnered with First 5 Alameda for the past two years, to provide coaching to both family child care and center-based programs. This person will be joining a team of three experienced quality improvement coaches at BANANAS, with funding from the City of Berkeley to increase the number of participating Berkeley providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have experience in coaching, training, or supervising child care workers in a child care setting and/or providing training or technical assistance to providers in a community based organization such as a Resource & Referral Agency. You should be familiar with a variety of child care assessment tools such as: CLASS, ERS (Environmental Rating Scales), and CSEFEL. Applicants must have:
an interest in and ability to work with the public on a daily basis
the ability to learn new information quickly
the ability to type and perform clerical tasks, including the creation of word documents, data input and reporting
a working knowledge of Northern Alameda County and the ability to provide her/his own transportation to work-related meetings and activities.
an attention to detail and accuracy
good writing and communication skills.
Bi-lingual Spanish speaking applicants are preferred.
