Summary:The Rapid Results Institute (www.rapidresults.org) is seeking an experienced, passionate, resourceful, and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Rapid Results Catalyst.
The Rapid Results Institute (RRI) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that creates transformative and sustained impact on tough societal challenges. We bring about this transformation by embedding the Rapid Results Approach in social impact programs, typically in partnership with government agencies or non-governmental organizations. Our work enables front-line teams to deliver seemingly impossible results, often in 100 days or less, and helps leaders leverage these initial results into sustained, long term, impact.
The Catalyst will initially focus on our housing/homelessness programs located within the United States. The work provides customized coaching and facilitation support to various communities working on ending homelessness for a number of different populations, as well as shaping and managing innovative programs to help communities that are doing pioneering work in the homelessness sector. Through 100-day efforts aimed at accelerating housing placements and coordinating access to housing, communities are finding collaborative and unique solutions to address this issue.
The Federal Government has set a national goal to end veteran homelessness nationwide by December 2015 and to end chronic homelessness nationwide by December 2017. The Rapid Results Institute is helping communities and states come together to reach these ambitious goals by building more efficient and accelerated systems for ending homelessness.
The position will require travel to support communities in the field, especially on the East Coast of the United States. The Catalyst may also be called on to support RRI programs overseas, so the candidate must be able and willing to travel overseas for limited periods (one to two weeks at a time).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support community leaders and teams to shape solutions and implement initiatives to tackle the issue of homelessness
Motivate community teams and leaders to pursue ambitious goals
Communicate regularly with local teams/leaders and other stakeholders (such as federal partners and other technical assistance providers) to troubleshoot issues and provide strategic guidance
Work collaboratively with colleagues at the RRI and outside to identify and share best practices, challenges, and innovative ideas in the Sector
Design and facilitate community-level workshops (either alone or with colleagues) in an engaging and results-driven manner
Train and mentor members of the community so they provide on-going facilitation and coaching support to leaders and teams in their communities, as the RRIs support is phased out.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent, in business, public policy, public health, or related fields
Demonstrated track record in passionately working with communities and organizations to affect positive social change
Excellent communication and ‘people’ skills
Three to five years previous work experience in the housing sector and/or community level change
Ability to interact effectively and to build trustful relationships with senior leaders in the community and in Government
Experience working in emerging economies (developing countries) – for at least six months (to ensure ability to transition into other programs, in response to the evolving portfolio of RRI engagements)
Other Critical Attributes:
Passionate about the work of the Institute: making meaningful change happen in 100 days, and working with leaders to leverage this to bring about systemic change.
Able to stay organized and manage a flexible yet demanding schedule, in a remote work environment
Positive outlook and high energy
Comfortable with ambiguity and with working in a perpetually entrepreneurial setting
Resourceful and able to exercise independent judgment
Collegial and respectful of input of others
Willing to receives and give feedback graciously and openly
Team player
Eager to embrace and co-create new and more effective ways of working and managing

The Catalyst is expected to use a computer for the majority of their work, which requires the ability to read a computer screen and utilize a computer keyboard.
