Resident Service Coordinator (Family Resouce Center) – Project Access – San Jose, CA

The Service Coordinator is responsible for the overall development and coordination of programs and services designed to generate positive changes in the lives of residents which include youth, adults, and the elderly. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Delivery

Assist residents, through interviews, surveys, and community meetings, to identify the services needed to promote their independence.
Coordinate and oversee an after-school program and teen program including: planning and organizing, and implementing curriculum, monitoring participant progress; providing stimulating, educational enhancement programs.
Programs may also include nutrition, parenting, financial literacy, job skills and career opportunity, referrals to access city and community services, and community building events.
Coordinate the staffing and presentation of onsite classes, programs, and services.
Coordinate an annual health fair and/or screenings securing health and wellness agencies participation.
Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers to deliver services onsite.
Link residents with existing programs and services in the community and facilitate access to services.
Serve as a representative in the community for services offered to residents.
Develop and maintain relationships with property managers and arrange biannual meetings to discuss program opportunities or needs.

Administrative

For both resource centers, publish a monthly newsletter including calendar of events for distribution to residents.
Participate in the creation of budgets for resident service programs, and monitor adherence to those budgets.
Develop and maintain the resource directory that lists local service providers.
Assist in the collection of resident demographic information and compilation of monthly program attendance and evaluation reports.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND AND SKILLS FOR THIS POSITION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services, Human Services, Education, Sociology, Gerontology, Psychology, and/or other appropriate field preferred
Minimum of one year experience in social services and working with youth
Bilingual in Spanish/English or Vietnamese/English desirable
Intermediate skill level with MSOffice (Excel, Word, Publisher) and Outlook.
Valid CA Driver’s License, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance
Successful completion of TB test, background check, and LiveScan
CPR & First Aid certified
Ability to self-start and multi-task
Excellent communication and organization skills
The physical activity of this position may include minimal lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, reaching, and step climbing

Location: Project Access Family Resource Centers at Casa Real and Orchard Glen Apartments, both in San Jose, CA

Reports to: Regional Supervisor

Classification: Full-time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (may include non-traditional hours)

Supervises: Volunteers and Interns
