EW!DC seeks qualified candidates with experience in education and/or children’s literacy for its Power Lunch program. This rewarding position requires working Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm on-site at a low-income elementary school. School Coordinators ensure that systems are in place for the successful implementation of daily reading sessions, monthly book distributions, and other program events and activities.
On-Site Program Responsibilities:
Monitor reading pairs during program hour to gauge quality of relationships and ensure appropriate interaction throughout the session.
Establish and maintain clear lines of communication with school faculty and community to ensure that EW!DC standards and boundaries are maintained.
Collect daily attendance and notify Reading Mentors or students of any cancellations, absences, or schedule changes.
Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting environment in EW!DC site office.
Establish professional relationships with Reading Mentors, school faculty, staff, and students.
Become familiar with the EW!DC book cart collection by reading the books and making suggestions to reading pairs.
Be capable and willing to lift 25 pounds in addition to frequent stair climbing when necessary.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Gather and maintain accurate data in writing and in computer file system for reporting requirements.
Monitor and track pertinent administrative information, such as sign-in sheets for attendance, books donated through monthly book distributions, and other information for program activities.
Participate in bi-weekly team meeting with program management team.
Respond to all phone and email messages in timely manner; correspond directly with Reading Mentors on scheduling issues.
Complete any and all other tasks as assigned by the program management team, and provide weekly and monthly reports.

Must be extremely reliable and enthusiastic, and possess excellent organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and a passion for working with students are essential.
Proficient in MS Office.
Exceptionally attentive to detail and capable of multi-tasking and prioritizing.
Willingness to be a team player, with ability to positively and effectively manage different personalities, and effectively address conflicts.
Adapt to change and respond to unexpected occurrences.
Committed to EW!DC’s mission of education and literacy reform.
Demonstrated track record of success at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services.
Experience working with elementary school aged students a plus.
