TITLE: Senior Academic Case Manager
PROGRAM: Huckleberry Wellness Academy – San Francisco
STATUS/SCHEDULE: Non-exempt/40 hours/Union
(2 days/week from 11am-7pm; 3 days/week from 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm)
SALARY: $36,566- $40,518
SUPERVISOR: Senior Director of Wellness Academy
AGENCY OVERVIEW: Huckleberry Youth Programs serves 6,000 youth annually and more than 150,000 youth since its incorporation in 1967. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Senior Director, the Senior Case Manager is responsible for supporting 20 average performing youth to achieve academic success in high school, explore careers of interest, and persist through post-secondary institutions. The Senior Case Manager will directly provide support services to youth including individual academic case management, workshop facilitation, parent meetings, curriculum development, community outreach, data collection, alumni support, inter-agency collaboration, and will oversee other support services including tutoring. The Senior Case Manager will create and maintain linkages to community resources including post-secondary institutions in the Bay Area and local professionals to serve as tutors/mentors.
DUTIES:
1. Assist with recruitment of youth participants.
2. Oversee volunteer and contract tutors; manage tutoring calendar.
3. Provide individual academic case management to participants, including intensive support with college and financial aid applications.
4. Plan and facilitate weekly cohort trainings.
5. Support planning of monthly field trips and quarterly college trips; on a rotating basis, chaperone such outings.
6. Work with team to review and revise curriculum and training modules.
7. Collect data on all program activities.
8. Coordinate the purchase of appropriate necessary teaching tools and equipment.
9. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services or related discipline.
2. 3 years minimum experience working in partnership with diverse low-income teens and families
3. Spanish and/or Cantonese fluency strongly preferred (bilingual premium of $1.00/hour added to base salary)
4. Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
5. Excellent written, communication and organizational skills.
6. Experience supporting youth towards academic success; significant experience with both college and financial aid application processes.
7.Solid experience and/ or familiarity with SFUSD, Wellness Centers and the San Francisco youth oriented non-profit community.
8. Excellent collaborator who is adaptable and committed to open communication.
9. Must be available for early evening and monthly Saturday shifts.
10. Criminal justice clearance and valid CA driver’s license, clean DMV record and 2 years previous driving experience.
