JOB DESCRIPTION SITE MANAGER/RANSOM EVERGLADES SCHOOL
Position Profile & Description: Breakthrough Miami is an 8-year, tuition-free academic enrichment program that uses a students-teaching-students model to ensure that motivated students from under-resourced communities have access to excellent educational opportunities, enter college-prep high schools and enroll in college. The Site Manager is integral to the Breakthrough Miami leadership team. The ideal candidate is an experienced educator and manager who excels at program development and service delivery, and someone who builds strong relationships with students, families, staff and partners.
Reports To: Managing Director, Program Design & Evaluation
Direct Reports: Supervises one full-time Associate Site Director/Student & Family Coordinator, two AmeriCorps members, plus part-time Instructional Coaches, Teaching Fellows and Volunteers. Number of direct reports: up to 30, seasonally variable.
Days/Hours of Work: This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Evening and weekend work are required to fulfill expectations of the role.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties
Oversee day-to-day operations of the school-year and summer program for students, AmeriCorps members, Teaching Fellows, and Instructional Coaches.
Oversee all student mentoring activities and programs provided by Teaching Fellows, AmeriCorps Members, and volunteers.
Responsible for the implementation, supervision and fidelity of the AmeriCorps program and assigned members.
Collaborate with the Program Leadership Team (PLT—Managing Director of Design & Evaluation, Director of Program Operations, Director of College Access & Alumni Relations) to implement, document and analyze all required performance measurements, outputs and outcomes.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all Host School personnel and administration.
Collaborate with PLT to create curriculum for the Summer Institute and School Year Program that addresses Breakthrough Miami’s college preparatory mission and facilitates the integration of site activities in support of common goals.
Oversee the student admissions process at assigned site
Collaborate with the PLT to recruit, interview and hire Summer Institute Teaching Fellows, School Year Volunteers, and college work-study interns.
Collaborate with the PLT to recruit, hire, train, and supervise Summer Institute Instructional Coaches
Collaborate with the PLT to develop teacher training agenda and oversee Orientation Week for Teaching Fellows.
Participate in programs fully; will be well-known to students, families, and teachers/interns.
Maintain and deepen existing relationships with partner schools, agencies and programs, and cultivate new partnerships to expand our network. Support the sharing of productive relationships with other sites.
Collaborate with the PLT to develop/refine program policies;
Engage in high-stakes student issues.
Lead initiatives to cultivate and maintain a great relationship with the Breakthrough Parent Network.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required, M.A./M.Ed. a plus

Minimum three years’ experience in education, ideal candidate will have both teaching and management experience.
Strong Knowledge of the demands of a rigorously academic program.

Effective multi-tasker who can oversee multiple projects and handle a dynamic work schedule.

Experience working with adolescents, young adults and families.
Ability to work effectively in diverse environments and to inspire and teach students of all ages from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent public speaking, writing, communication, and computer skills; 2nd language strongly preferred.
Familiarity with the Breakthrough model and Miami-Dade Public Schools a plus.
