RESULTS is seeking an enthusiastic individual to join its communications team as a Senior Writer. With a heavy focus on writing, this new position will take on specific projects with our legislative and advocacy teams (50%), as well as support broad organizational and development communications needs (50%).

Position description:
This mid-level position will report to the Communications Director, working as part of a three-person team and collaborating on a daily basis with colleagues in other departments in the DC office and across the country. The successful candidate will bring an eye for detail, a knack for creativity, and an unwavering commitment to quality.
Responsibilities:
Write content for mass emails and website, managing editorial calendar and conceptualizing new content and tools.
Provide targeted writing support for advocacy and media work on global and domestic poverty issues.
Produce traditional media materials, including press releases, media briefs, and op-eds.
Support marketing materials development for annual conference as well as ongoing institutional marketing and expansion work.
In collaboration with development team, produce fundraising materials, including appeals, regular donor email communications, and cases for investment.
Lead content development and production of Annual Report.
Lead regular tracking, analysis, and communication of organizational accomplishments.
Review copy for accuracy, editorial consistency, and grammar.
Support overall communications strategy and RESULTS’ mission through other duties as assigned.
Desired skills and qualifications
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Experience writing in a variety of styles – from pithy web content to detailed policy briefs – while ensuring editorial consistency.
Interest in issues of poverty and social justice.
Ability to think “big picture” while maintaining impeccable attention to detail.
Readiness to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and professional diplomacy skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people.
A high degree of both initiative and flexibility.
Undergraduate degree and two to four years professional communications experience required.
Experience with email marketing and writing for the web preferred.
Experience distilling complex policy issues into compelling content a plus.
