Special Education Coordinator – California Charter Schools Association – Los Angeles, CA

This posting is for Special Education Coordinator for the California Charter Schools Association. This position is designed to support the statewide work of the special education team, which includes technical assistance to schools, special education advocacy at the local and state levels, special education data collection, and engagement with SELPAs and charter school authorizers in ensuring quality options for charter schools.

Identify charter schools that are successfully serving students with disabilities to highlight best practices for increasing the range of quality services and instructional options for vulnerable student populations.
Support efforts to collecting qualitative data on successful special education models through gathering and communicating student and family success stories.
Support regional charter school networks or consortiums that foster collaboration and promote the sharing of services, risk, and expertise to increase the availability of high-quality special education programs in the charter setting.
Facilitate comprehensive trainings, develop and disseminate resources to provide charter schools with a sound understanding of special education laws and programming.
Oversee the process for identifying high quality service providers.
Update web-based special education member resources.
Collaborate with the CCSA Communications team to ensure regular sharing of special education data in both local, state, and national arenas.
Manage the systems associated with implementation of the work on the special ed team.
