Job Description:

We are looking for creative, experienced and collaborative elementary educators to serve as substitute teachers when the Lead Classroom Teacher, Faculty Associate, Specialist or Extended Day Instructor is absent. Our classroom educators are responsible for academic instruction, as well as supporting student’s social and emotional development. Substitute teachers are expected to supervise students in class, at recess breaks, and throughout lunch time. Faculty Associates support student learning in the classroom by helping to facilitate differentiated instruction, as well as supervising daily all-school recess. Specialist teachers instruct students each week in Spanish, technology, information literacy in the Library, music and physical education.

Qualifications:

Experience teaching elementary students.
Knowledge of current best teaching practices in all content areas.
Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, nurturing environment for students.
Proficiency with technology, especially as it relates to the classroom.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Education/ Experience

Teaching certificate, Washington State preferred.
Prior student teaching or classroom teaching and a record of effective performance.

Compensation:

The per diem rate is $135.00 for a full day, 8:00 – 3:45 and $70.00 for a half day.
