Family League has a Seasonal/Temporary opening in the position of Summer Outreach Coordinator. It is an integral part of Family League’s support operations of Baltimore City’s Super Summer. The Summer Outreach Coordinator will manage the Super Summer web presence and attend public events on behalf of Family League.
Essential Functions
Manage the Super Summer website, including daily data uploads, updating current content, and ensuring consistent language and branding.
Ensure timely, consistent, and relevant social media posts are made in accordance with the Super Summer Outreach Plan and the Family League Communications Plan.
Attend all Super Summer public outreach events, which may include assisting with mobile meals sites as needed.
Assist with writing newsletters articles, press releases, talking points, development materials, promotional items, etc. as needed and as related to Super Summer events and activities.
Coordinate with the Communications Associate to ensure photographs are taken at Super Summer events and added to the organizational photo library.
Work cooperatively with partner organizations and the Mayor’s Office to ensure project deadlines and expectations are met.
Perform routine and timely website updates and maintenance.
Ensure the consistent branding of Family League in all internal and external materials.
Work closely with departmental staff and the Coordinator of HR & Executive Support to manage the relationships with outside vendors relevant to the Super Summer work.
Other Functions
Assist in coordination of special events that promote the Family League and Super Summer.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director of the Baltimore Partnership to End Childhood Hunger.
Education & Experience Requirements
College credit or 1-2 years experience in communications or related field required.
Working knowledge of various social media platforms and experience managing business/organizational pages and accounts.
Baltimore City resident strongly preferred
Interest in and passion for working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Proficiency in MS office, Adobe Professional suite, Drupal, and social media management software. Strong aptitude for learning new software programs.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to be focused and detailed, meet deadlines and juggle multiple tasks and work as part of a team

This is a temporary position that will be part time through the end of May, then transition to full time hours through August.
This position is not eligible for telework or compressed work week.
This position does qualify for a cell phone stipend in the amount of $60/month.
Salary is $12.50/hour.
