Background
Steppingstone Scholars, Inc. is a not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to providing opportunities for motivated and talented Philadelphia schoolchildren. The Steppingstone Scholars Program identifies fourth-graders from Philadelphia public schools and prepares them to enter and succeed in the area’s top college-preparatory schools. Once accepted, Scholars participate in an intensive 14-month-long academic program known as our Academy 6 program and are then placed in schools. From there, Scholars have access to support services through middle school, high school, and into college, to ensure successful college completion and career readiness, including our summer program, Step It Up! for our 7th-10th graders.
