TechGYRLS Program Manager – YWCA Silicon Valley – San Jose, CA

Join a passionate and innovative team dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. TechGYRLS is a highly successful after-school empowerment program that provides girls age 5 through high-school age with opportunities to increase their skills and confidence in the use of technology and engineering. The goal of the TeghGYRLS program is to provide technology education in an all-girl environment where girls feel comfortable taking risks and opening up to new learning opportunities. Students engage in activities that stimulate a deeper interest in technology using critical thinking, time management, teamwork, problem-solving and presentation skills.

The Program Manager provides leadership, oversight and management of the TechGYRLS Program. Assists in the delivery of program goals and deliverables, and ensures goals are in alignment with and advances the strategic plan. The Program Manager will develop a team which includes instructors, interns and volunteers. This program is focused on STEM and work through partnerships with elementary, middle and high school administrations, to increase outreach and develop new strategies for recruitment of additional program participants.

We require:

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in education, engineering, math and science.
Cultural competency is required.
Candidates should be competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and have experience in confidential data management and record keeping.
Bilingual, bi-cultural and bi-literate skills are highly preferred but not required.
