Relay’s Technology Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring an effective and productive environment for our graduate school that heavily leverages technology. The role is highly visible, interfacing with a wide variety of internal and external individuals, including students, faculty, staff, and colleagues at partner organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technology Support and Logistics
Serve as Relay’s primary point of contact for all technology support requests from our students, faculty, and staff
Educate our users on how to use Relay’s online platforms
Assist faculty and staff with hardware issues related to PC’s, Mac’s, and peripheral devices
Research and implement improvements to internal documentation and training processes
Proactively look for ways to improve internal processes in an effort to increase efficiency
Support the Chief Technology Officer and the Director of Technology with research projects and the preparation of financial reports and compliance documentation
Troubleshoot and problem solve like it’s your job, because…well, it is
Support and Management of Vendor Software
Ensure availability of Relay’s vendor software by completing configuration requests and troubleshooting issues; and
Coordinate with third-party application vendors to organize training and schedule upgrades to systems.
Support for Curriculum Production and Publishing
Support Relay’s Curriculum Design team with the production of online instructional content
Publish curricular content to Relay’s learning management system
Assist with ongoing administration of Relay’s learning management system
Support for Class Days
Organize and plan technology-related logistics for Relay class days
Provide on-site technology and audiovisual support for Relay class days, as needed
Support Quality Assurance (QA) Testing
Support Relay’s internal engineering team with bi-weekly testing of new features and enhancements to Relay’s custom academic software
Assist in writing test plans used in QA testing
Assist in tracking, updating, and closing entries in Relay’s bug- and issue-tracking software
QUALIFICATIONS
First and foremost, the Technology Coordinator must share the team’s sense of urgency about the need to improve student achievement through phenomenal teacher training. Additional requirements include:
A bachelor’s degree
A demonstrated comfort with and ability to rapidly learn new technologies
Comfortable with supporting a mixed Windows/Mac environment
Someone that enjoys solving problems and fixing issues
Strong customer service orientation, team orientation, and collaborative nature
Fanatic attention to detail as well as proven organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently, intensely, and within an entrepreneurial environment
Demonstrated passion for urban education and closing the achievement gap
A high level of grit, hope, gratitude, and humor
