Toy (Fashion) Design Intern – Child’s Cup Full – New York, NY

Child’s Cup Full is currently seeking a creative, energetic and motivated Toy Design Intern to join our team.

Child’s Cup Full (CCF) is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to support refugee communities in Palestine through economic empowerment and educational programming. CCF’s aims are twofold: 1) to provide training and employment opportunities for refugee women, and 2) to support grassroots educational programs for children. As a registered 501(c)3 organization, CCF is based in the United States, where our small team markets and sells handcrafted products made by Palestinian women artisans. The profit from our sales is utilized to pay the artisans’ salaries, to maintain the units, and to create grassroots early childhood development programs. CCF is the creator and implementer of the idea, concept and actualization of all economic units and product lines. Since 2012, CCF has developed the Toys for Hope project, where nine women artisans have been trained and employed to make handcrafted educational children’s toys in Zababdeh, a village outside of Jenin, Palestine. CCF is currently building the second unit, called Darzeh, in another nearby village of Jenin. At the Darzeh unit, the women artisans will make embroidered and leather-made goods including handbags. All CCF products are sold on the CCF website and through retailers around the world.

As part of our startup organization, the Toy Design Intern will play an integral role in the success of the organization’s projects, and will have the opportunity to join a growing team of inspired and committed individuals. This internship is home-based and requires at least 15 hours/week. The Toy Design Intern will report to the Assistant Director, based in North Carolina.
