Are you ready to educate your peers around global events, spark conversation, and amplify the youth voice around everything from drones to climate change? Are you ready to put your leadership skills to the test? Then we need you!
Who We Are:
We amplify the story, voice and power of global youth. Through training programs, blogging, social media, a storytelling campaign and more, we’re empowering the next generation of young global leaders. Run entirely by youth (high school to young professional), we’re taking the initiative to demand and create a more peaceful, healthy, just, and sustainable world. We believe that our generation has an immense amount of power and potential to change the playing field at every level.
Founded as Americans for Informed Democracy in 2002, this year we’re rebranding as AMP Global Youth. We’re hoping to grow quickly, expand our reach and impact, and play an even bigger role empowering the next generation of young global leaders. We need amazing team members to help us do all of this. Will you join us?
The Training Team supports our popular training programs: Global Scholar, Global Leader and monthly webinars/tweetchats. Responsibilities include:
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT: Expand our great line-up of training content by developing additional lessons around social change, youth leadership, team building and more.
CONTENT DEVELOPMENT: Create fun and impactful training content using video, graphics, blogs and more.
TRAINING DELIVERY: Support our training experiences including virtual and on-the-ground training events.
What You Give:
At AIDemocracy, we believe that every volunteer experience is an exchange that empowers everyone involved. In this position you will give:
Your enthusiasm: we couldn’t do what we do without the passion of our youth
Your time: the time you put into your tasks not only benefits you, but also helps advance the AID community and goals
Belief in yourself and the AIDemocracy Mission: change is sustainable and entirely possible when we believe in ourselves and work together
What You Get:
New skills: this position will give you the opportunity to build valuable writing skills, as well as analytical, communication, and outreach skills. You’ll also participate in initial and monthly training calls.
New friends: connect with like-minded individuals that share your passion and belief that youth can change the world
Skills and Qualifications Needed:
Training Team members should be confident communicators and public speakers. You don’t need experience having led trainings of this sort, but you should be comfortable jumping in where needed. You will receive training and support throughout your work, and participate in strategic planning meetings and retreats. You will also work with other volunteers, as well as the broader network leadership.
