Job Summary
The Volunteer & Administrative Coordinator plans, coordinates and implements My New Red Shoes’ community volunteer outreach and activities as well as oversees, organizes and coordinates office procedures in support of organizational goals. This includes ensuring gift bags and community-donated shoes are acquired from volunteers and community partners in time for distribution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Volunteer Coordination
Helps to maintain an exemplary volunteer program for community and individual volunteers of all ages
Raises awareness in the community to bolster support for My New Red Shoes’ mission and impact
Recruit for, plan, implement and manage age-appropriate service and philanthropic opportunities to ensure a wide range of community engagement
With Director of Programs and Operations, recruit and steward long-term volunteers to support organizational needs
Implement and facilitate partnerships with key service organizations (i.e. Girl Scouts, NCL, etc.)
Coordinate community shoe drives and volunteer activities to meet annual goals for the collection of shoes, gift bags and “first-day” cards
Oversee and process the receiving of all shoe purchases and in-kind donations
Track and maintain in-kind shoe donations, inventory of gift bags, and “first-day” cards,
Generate donor thank you letters for in-kind shoe donations and shoe drives
Maintain and update community Amazon wish list
Implement qualitative and quantitative volunteer evaluation tools
Office Administration
Provides program support to the Director of Programs and Operations
Track data and generate reports on volunteer outcomes and in-kind donations
Update and maintain program collateral materials as needed
Coordinate activities and assist in organizational events including Pack for Pride and the Annual Fashion Show, etc.
Answer & route main phone and email inquires, and greet office visitors and volunteers
Track, maintain and replenish office supplies and inventory
Maintain and archive organizational materials (electronic & hard copy) and ensure filing systems are maintained
Other duties as assigned

Capability to perform well both independently and as part of a team

Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
Competency in and comfort with self-directed problem solving
Openness to giving and receiving feedback
Flexibility and resourcefulness
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and comfort with learning and effectively using new technologies
Bachelor’s degree and two+ years of experience in education and/or outreach in diverse communities, representing a range of ages and abilities
Additional Requirements
Transportation required
Ability to lift heavy loads (50 lbs. +)
Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, including Sundays, as required
