ASEP’s mission is to provide the community with equal access to quality after school enrichment programming. ASEP combines the core values of Arts Enrichment, Academic Support and Health and Wellness into a comprehensive and specialized educational experience. We serve over 450 San Francisco youth in grades kindergarten through 5th grade during after school and summer time programming. Through a mixed funding model, 250 at-risk or underserved students attend our program completely free. Today we are hiring for Program Leaders and Program Aides and we are looking for interested applicants to apply today.
The Program Leader position will design and implement curriculum for youth in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. The curriculum can span a broad range of topics from design, arts, science, social studies, language arts to physical education and wellness. Throughout the week ASEP Program Leaders and Program Aides meet to design weekly lesson plans or attend professional development training sessions. ASEP encourages Program Leaders and Program Aides to get creative in their curriculum development process and focus the learning to be as fun and engaging as possible! Program Leaders and Program Aides support ASEP youth in their academic learning and homework responsibilities and promote healthy living through ASEP’s Health and Wellness program. Program Leaders and Program Aides are supported by two Site Coordinators who are both are available on site every day to help communicate with parents, teachers and students. Safety is ASEP’s top priority so interested applicants should have strong organization skills and feel confident in their ability to lead and engage students throughout the afterschool day form sign in to sign out.
Ideal candidates have a background in education with a B.A or B.S or at least 48 education units. Applicants should have 6 post-secondary units in recreation, physical education, elementary school education, art, music, or dance that is relevant to elementary school children or be concurrently enrolled in classes or at least 50 hours working in a child care setting under the direction of a Child Care Center Director. Applicants should be able to work independently and communicate effectively with members of their team when needed. Applicants should also feel comfortable working in a fast past and changing environment. We are looking for someone with leadership qualities that can bring empathy, positivity and organization to our team. Work Hours: Monday though Friday. 1:45pm-6:00pm depending upon the school site. ASEP operates at McKinley Elementary School and Daniel Webster Elementary School.
Compensation: $11-$16 per hour depending upon experience.
