Davis United Methodist Church (DUMC) welcomes applicants for the position of Youth Programs Coordinator.
This position is ideal for a person who embraces progressive Christian activism and the planning, organizing, and communication necessary to support programs that will nurture the faith of teens and engage youth in the work of social justice. The Coordinator will join the team of other staff and a congregation that is dedicated to living the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The Youth Programs Coordinator works closely with the Youth Leader (YL) in a spiritually rich program for youth grades 7-12. The Coordinator supports the YL during weekly youth meetings and performs the administration that is vital to making things happen, including: recruiting, training and supporting volunteers, planning logistics for youth programs, working with youth on fundraising and other events, communicating with youth, parents, the congregation and others to increase youth participation, integrating new families into the church.
The Youth Coordinator needs to be able to work on Sunday evenings.

Share the theological, reconciling, and social justice values of DUMC.
Demonstrated ability to work with and support people with diverse ethnic, social, cultural and economic backgrounds and sexual orientations.
Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills, ability to effectively use multiple communication modes suitable to youth, parents, and adults of all ages
Good writing and interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills; good at prioritizing. Ability to competently handle multiple programs, meeting various needs for short-term projects, long-term programs, and planning for the future
Demonstrated experience working with youth
Ability to work independently and manage diverse feedback.
Completion and approval of background check is a condition of employment.
This is a part-time, salaried position, approximately 14 hours/week (35% time). Pay range is $12,000 to $13,620 annually ($1,000 to $1,135 per month), depending on experience.
