Program Description:
Eden I&R’s non-profit Ollie Arnold Housing Department provides information about low cost housing options to homeless individuals, families, and others seeking housing-related services in Alameda County.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Housing Coordinator oversees thedevelopment and maintenance of the housing resources database (over 81,000units), and maintains and fosters relationships with property managers, landlords,developers, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders. TheCoordinator also assists the agency’s Disaster Preparedness efforts includingstaff trainings/drills, preparedness/response materials, and representation atvarious disaster-related community meetings/events. The Coordinator supervisesHousing Department staff (currently 2) and volunteers (varies).
Duties Include:
Develop and manage outreach and follow-up efforts with property managers, landlords and housing developers.
Manage contacts with property owners to directly solicit new property listings.
Monitor and gather housing information to keep the housing database up-to-date and accurate.
Analyze, monitor, and report on housing-related issues internally and community-wide.
Develop marketing and publicity materials for the Housing Department.
Train and supervise Housing Department staff and volunteers.
Manage the Housing Subscription program including new and renewing subscribers.
Develop and maintain relationships with non-profit housing developers & other agency partners including elected officials, government representatives, and community-based organization staff.
Represent the agency at housing and other agency related countywide meetings.
Make public presentations to community, government and business groups.
Provide training to individuals and organizations about housing & preparedness issues.
Assist with the agency’s Disaster Preparedness activities including the updating of the agency’s Disaster Continuity Plan.
Help organize and assist in leading internal and external disaster drills.
As back-up when needed, assess callers’ needs, provide appropriate referrals to housing and human services, and advocate for callers in complex and emergency situations on the agency’s phone line programs.
Assist with Office Admin duties.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Experience with database and word processing programs.
College graduate plus minimum two years work experience.
Supervisory experience highly desirable.
Experience with property management, real estate, and/or social service agencies preferred.
Compensation: $36,000-$43,000 plus benefits
