The Director of Planning and Development (P&D) position at the Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) offers an opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day and long-term viability of one of the country’s most highly-regarded housing agencies. The CHA provides safe, high-quality affordable housing to nearly 10% of Cambridge’s residents through its commitment to innovation, efficiency and accountability. The Director of P&D will organize, direct, and administer all of the Authority’s planning, construction and development activities and initiatives in accordance with Agency, state, and federal regulations, acting as a liaison between the Agency and community organizations, investors, and funding and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate considerable independence, evaluative thinking, written and oral communication skills, and physical planning and capital financing expertise. Ed & Exp: BA degree in business admin, property management, public administration, or a related field, and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in a management directly related to the planning and construction of affordable housing. Experience with both Federal and Massachusetts procurement requirements, specifically State Law M.G.L. c. 149 and M.G.L. c. 149A preferred. An equivalent combination of education & experience may be considered.
