Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA)
MOCA’s mission is to celebrate the living history of the Chinese experience in America, to inspire our diverse communities to contribute to America’s evolving cultural narrative and civil society, and to empower and bridge our communities across generations, ethnicities and geography through our dynamic stories. Our museum is a nonprofit educational and cultural institution dedicated to reclaiming, preserving, and interpreting the history and culture of Chinese and their descendants in the United States. Through an ongoing and historical dialogue that shapes MOCA’s collections, programs and exhibitions, people of all backgrounds are able to explore the diversity and complexity of American history and culture, while gaining unique access to the images, papers, oral histories and artifacts which document the story.
The Museum of Chinese in America is seeking a Director of Technology. This person reports directly to the President and is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at MOCA’s main building (215 Centre Street), and Collections and Research Center (70 Mulberry Street). This includes managing and maintaining all computers, servers, domain network security, telecommunications, Cisco firewalls, data systems and audio/visual system in the two facilities, providing support for MOCA websites, and developing online applications and websites upon request. S/he manages all IT vendors and service providers.

Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot errors and maintain various IT systems; create an efficient working environment.
Upgrade, install and manage AV system (Crestron system), computers system and servers, including software & hardware.
Maintain telecommunications system, including but not limit to setting up accounts, voice mail boxes, extensions, company directories, and company greeting.
Manage the Exchange Email server: office 365; responsible for setting up, editing, and troubleshooting email accounts.
Manage and conduct network folder security, user’s right, and domain security.
Manage Active Directories Users and Computers.
Manage the ADT alarm system and surveillance cameras; responsible for setting up and managing alarm access code and access fob.
Update and manage ongoing development of website; operate and maintain content management system (i.e. Drupal) and ecommerce site; provide analysis using metrics from Google Analytics.
Develop small web applications and websites upon request.
Perform backup for server, database, user account; monitor network security and website security.
Make recommendation for future purchase of hardware, software, and technology needs.
Act as the sole point of contact for various technical service vendors.
Assist with all other technical and mechanical issues.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
Understand computing procedures and standards and desktop and server network configurations.
Working knowledge of the following technologies: Microsoft Servers 2003 and up, Microsoft Terminal Server, SQL Server, Filer Server, XP, Windows 7, OSX, Cisco firewall multi-layer design and implementation, router access list / packet filtering, WLC, AP, WANs, LANs, Internet, Intranets and network protocols (i.e., telnet, ftp, TCP/IP and etc.), Enterprise Security management tools, security assessment software, and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
Expert in all Microsoft products and Office 365, Symantec Products, FTP Server, data backup and recovery; working knowledge of data systems: The Raiser’s Edge and The Counter Point.
Proficiency in CSS, JavaScript, HTML, PHP and Drupal CMS; general knowledge of hand-coding.
Ability to operate a wide variety of AV equipment; skilled at troubleshooting and performing complex repairs
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree with notable achievements. CS background a plus.
Minimal 4+ years of experience with servers, workstations support, and websites development.
Proven leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with various technical platforms and third party applications.
Excellent project management skills.
Flexible work schedule, including some weekends/holidays.
General knowledge of different programming platforms.
Understanding of Drupal and PHP.
