Program Coordinator – Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research – Boston, MA

Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) is recruiting for a full-time Program Coordinator.

The Program Coordinator manages PRIM&R’s educational programs, including the At Your Doorstep initiative and regional meetings. The Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of these programs, including developing the programs’ infrastructure, executing successful offerings of the programs in different settings in the US and abroad, recruiting faculty and speakers, working with subject matter experts to ensure courses are designed and executed in accordance with best practices in adult learning, scheduling, preparing materials, contributing to the development of and monitoring program budgets for each program and ensuring the programs are executed according to budget, and assisting with the marketing of the programs.

The Coordinator also manages up to 12 pre-conference educational programs (or one-day short courses) at PRIM&R’s two annual conferences, collaborating with conference team on logistics; works with senior management on the creation of new programming; and plays a significant role in the strategic execution of the programs within his/her portfolio (i.e., coordinating long-term planning, working with subject matter experts to ensure courses are designed and executed in accordance with best practices in adult learning, evaluation results and program analyses, and implementing ways to improve the experience of program attendees). S/he may have other educational projects as assigned. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Education and Professional Development.

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate must have at least two years of program planning/ coordination with an interest in, or experience with, adult learning or instructional design. S/he should have experience working in the nonprofit arena, a BA/BS degree, and excellent writing and editing skills. S/he has the ability to manage many projects simultaneously and independently while working in a fast-paced, demanding environment; is extremely organized; and knows that a customer service focus is a must. We’re also looking for attention to detail; high level of creativity and skill in dealing effectively with a variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise; and skill in working collaboratively with others in a team environment. A willingness to travel and expertise with Microsoft Office are also required.
