Program Planner – Asian Health Services HR Dept – Oakland, CA

The Program Planner is responsible for coordinating all aspects of grant development; monitoring of policies and activities that are relevant to the agency’s mission; conduct research and needs assessments, and planning of corporate, facilities and special projects as assigned.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Grantsmanship: Seek funding opportunities through document reviews, networking, internet and foundation research. Work with program staff to identify program needs and to develop program/project design and budgets; write and package grant proposals; monitor grant progress and provide the necessary follow-up on grant applications (e.g. providing additional information, setting up meetings, attending hearings, etc.).
Grants/Contracts Monitoring: Monitor agency’s compliance with contract reporting requirements, prepare and package contract progress reports as necessary; monitor and ensure that agency staff comply with reporting and other contract requirements in a timely fashion. Prepare written materials and respond to inquiries from funding agencies, government agencies, foundations and other community-based organizations as requested.
Program planning, evaluation, and research: Work with departments in developing departmental program plans and/or new program concepts, collect and analyze internal data to determine efficiency (of what), collect and analyze external data on service area to determine community needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires excellent English writing ability, stellar organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment, and a strong work ethic. Must be able to understand, analyze, and interpret complex program planning information, and to write grant applications in an organized, clear and concise, logical, and persuasive manner. Knowledge of data collection, research techniques, and statistical analysis needed. Experience in health planning desirable. Familiarity with Asian community helpful.
