About Impact Justice
Impact Justice is a national innovation and resource center committed to reducing the number of people involved in our juvenile and adult criminal justice system, improving conditions for those who remain incarcerated, providing meaningful opportunities for success for those rejoining our communities, and improving justice outcomes for crime victims. We work in a variety of program areas including violence reduction, community-based programs, restorative justice, youth placed on registries, and police/prosecution. We are looking for smart, creative, and dedicated individuals to support these program areas. Impact Justice is a new and exciting organization that is working at the leading edge of improving outcomes in our criminal justice system.
Community Programs Focus Area
The Community Programs focus area at Impact Justice is focused on building alternatives to school-based discipline and juvenile justice involvement. We are particularly focused on supporting the development of community-based organizations and understanding how successful alternatives can provide better outcomes than the traditional justice system. Community Programs at Impact Justice aims to develop and evaluate a range of programs that support the well-being and positive development of youth of color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, questioning, gender non-conforming and transgender (LGBQ/GNCT) youth.
Our current projects include quantitative analyses of education and justice data; mixed-method evaluations of community-based programs for foster youth, suspended and expelled youth, and justice-involved youth and adults; trainings for probation departments that are interested in serving LGBQ/GNCT youth and youth of color; technical assistance for community-based organizations working with systems; technical assistance for community-based organizations working with systems; and technical assistance for justice systems working with community-based organizations.
