Position Summary
The Residential Care and Safety Coordinator provides household oversight and residential supportive services, which would involve, but not be limited to, the following activities:
Essential Functions
Support the stated mission of The Salvation Army in word and deed
Monitor the entrance and exit of all persons to the program, ensuring that only authorized persons are on the floor
Make timely rounds of the facility to ensure that residents are safe and protected
Enforce the program rules and regulations
Fulfill basic housekeeping duties and assignments, as assigned
Monitor and record medication distribution to residents as needed
Provide crisis intervention as needed
Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude to residents
Provide support and encouragement to residents
Interface with providers making referral calls
Ensure that house management paperwork is accurate and up-to-date
Attend regular team meetings and trainings, including the monthly full staff meeting
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).
If working in vicinity of vulnerable adults an extensive background check is required with certification from Protect the Mission
High school graduate or equivalent
If in recovery, at least 12 months of being clean and sober to the present, with evidence of working a program of personal recovery
Flexibility to cover another RCSC’s shift when the other staff is absent unexpectedly
Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification in first 90 days of employment
Must pass health screening
Must receive TB testing yearly
Commitment to the holistic mission of The Salvation Army and the Haven
Experience working with persons who are homeless and/or disabled
Veteran status a plus
Commitment to working with disabled veterans
Must have appropriate written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with others and committed to the vision of the Executive Director that the Haven be a program of excellence
