The Alliance for a Just Society seeks an experienced Administrative Director at its office in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle, WA. The Alliance for a Just Society’s mission is to execute regional and national campaigns and build strong state affiliate organizations and partnerships that address economic, racial, and social inequities.
Qualifications:
– Two or more years experience in an administrative role, or comparable skills and abilities
– Strong writing skills
– Strong ability to multitask and independently prioritize work
– Good “people skills”
– Experience using Microsoft Office products
– Excellent communication skills
– Excellent organizational skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Ability to lift 20lbs and to go up and down stairs multiple times per day

Job Duties:
Finances & Insurance
Maintain accurate logs and files of all financial transactions for transmission to the bookkeeper.
Create & issue invoices
Oversee the approval & payment of bills
Track grants and regrants
Manage staff benefits programs.
Provide support and feedback for renewal of organizational insurance.
Participate in the finance committee and provide support for the annual budgeting process and the annual 990 filing.
Provide additional financial/bookkeeping support as needed.
Events/Meetings Planning & Coordination
Manage logistics for events and meetings (food, travel, lodging), and prepare materials.
Take minutes at the meetings and make sure that meeting file documentation is complete.
Admin Support for ED
Provide support for the Executive Director with travel, scheduling and technology, and other support as requested.
Support other staff members as needed, as approved by ED.
Office and Building Management
Coordinate maintenance of the building.
Manage the relationships with tenants.
Provide technology support for office equipment and systems.
Work with Administrative Assistant on rental of event space
Management
Supervise a part-time administrative assistant.
Delegate to and coordinate with the assistant to accomplish tasks relating to finances, events, staff support and building management.
Miscellaneous
Office management, sorting and delivering mail, and answering phones
Researching and making supply and materials purchases for the building and occasionally for other departments, with some supervision by Executive Director
Other tasks as needed to implement smooth running of the organization.
