Job Description: Direct Care Staff

Hours: Full Time / Overnight and weekends

Job Site: Emergency Services Program

Reports To: Emergency Services Coordinator

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Direct Care Staff will be responsible for the supervision of the clients of the Program on an daily basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Orient new youth to the program
Provide clients with advocacy, referrals, crisis intervention and supportive counseling
Ensure clients are following the guidelines and expectations of the program
Monitor clients behaviors to ensure the safety of themselves and those around them through direct client/staff interaction
Prepare clients for indepent living through various life skill activities. Which includes cooking, socialization, and group interaction

Administration

Participate in monthly all staff meeting
Supervison with Emergency Services Coordinator

Diversity

Ensure that all activities, services and programs through Bridge are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity for all Bridge clients

Other • Other related tasks as required/requested

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate Degree or related degree
Two years experience working with adolescents
Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: homelessness, substance abuse, human service organization
Current First Aide/CPR Certificate
Continuous clean driver’s record
Valid Licenses as required
