Hiring Salary Range: $2,830-$3,330 monthly

ABOUT THE CENTER FOR WORKLIFE LAW

The Center for WorkLife Law (WLL), based at University of California Hastings College of the Law, is one of the nation’s leading organizations devoted to gender equality and to improving work-life balance for both men and women. WLL works towards legal change, organizational change, and social change by advocating for gender equality and work-life balance.

THE ROLE

The Interim Program Associate will temporarily fill the position of WorkLife Law Program Associate while the Center searches for a permanent employee to fill the position. The Interim Program Associate will support the Director and the Deputy Director in event planning, fiscal matters, travel arrangements, scheduling, general office functions, and other administrative tasks. Depending on skills and background, the Interim Program Associate may also have the opportunity to take on substantive responsibilities typically performed by the WorkLife Law Program Associate, including researching, writing, and editing blogs, news articles, reports, and books related to gender and work-life issues.

This is a temporary 2-5 month appointment. We will consider only applicants who are available to begin work during or before the week of June 8.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Interim Program Associate’s duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Support- support the Director and Deputy Director in scheduling and communications. Schedule meetings, manage office supplies, arrange travel, organize events, and handle mail and phone. General administrative duties and office functions are to be expected, and will be performed as needed.
Events- act as coordinator for academic working group meetings, and assist Associate Director of Women’s Leadership and Development Associate with larger events; some note-taking required.
Hiring- coordinate hiring of staff.
Finance- process consultant invoices, reimbursements, and company card for Director and Deputy Director; assist Deputy Director in budget, contracts, and other work related to consultants.

Depending on skills and background, the Interim Program Associate may be given the opportunity to perform the following duties:

Social Media & Web- manage online presence of Director and WLL, including Twitter and various Blogs, as well as update the Center’s websites, including creating original substantive content.
Writing-assist Director and Deputy Director in researching, writing, and editing blogs, news articles, reports, and books related to the work-life and gender equality issues addressed by the Center; frequent original blog writing required.

REQUIREMENTS

Ability to perform office functions with accuracy and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Flexible, can-do attitude.
Proven track record of success within an office environment.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Event planning experience (preferred).
Demonstrated interest in and commitment to gender equity issues (preferred).
Availability to begin work during the week of June 8.
