Program Director of Training and Advocacy – Urban Habitat – Oakland, CA

The Program Director of Training and Advocacy is responsible for managing the organization’s training, technical assistance, and leadership development efforts to advance the organization’s policy and advocacy goals. The Program Director will also oversee the Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI) program – the implementation of the Bay Area’s BCLI, replication of BCLI by other organizations, and continuing to build upon BCLI for greater impact. The Program Director must be able to design curriculum and conduct trainings for policy campaigns, be organized and detail-oriented, and effectively manage multiple projects.

Job Qualifications

Education/Training/Experience and knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position:

Masters degree with content knowledge in one or more of the following: urban planning, public policy, transportation, affordable housing or public health.
At least five (5) years experience in public policy, public administration, public health, urban planning, community development, or social/environmental justice field.
Experience leading, developing, or supporting policy advocacy, campaigns, and/or analysis
Understanding of environmental, social, and economic justice issues and a demonstrated commitment to positively impact low-income communities and communities of color.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $75,000
