HOURS: Full Time Exempt Employee — EOE/AA

SUMMARY

The Special Programs Manager is a new position for San Francisco Suicide Prevention, created to facilitate expanded programs previously managed by Client Services Director. Three new programs for SFSP need a manager to supervise, lead, and assist the program coordinators, with the support of current staff. Other innovative programs may be added in the future.

The ideal candidate will have management and supervision experience, experience with development of new programs, and the ability and willingness to support current staff as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages successful operations of specially funded innovative agency programs including the ACCESS Coverage Service and the Grief Response Program (GRP) and any other new programs developed in time as appropriate. Supports the Peer Workforce Supportive Services Program in conjunction with the Dir. of Operations and Development
Supervises, monitors, and evaluates all program staff connected to above two programs (ACCESS, GRP), including the ACCESS Coordinator and the Grief Response Coordinator
In cooperation with the Executive Director and the Director of Operations and Development, assists in the development and maintenance of private and public sector funding for programs
In cooperation with the IT Director and Director of Operations and Development, develops and delivers relevant reports, data, and contract development materials
Resolves internal and external programmatic and contract issues
Participates in planning and formulation of policies and procedures with the Board and Staff
Implements new programs as directed by the Executive Director with input from the Board
In cooperation with the Outreach Director, provides requested public information on special programs
Supports the Grief Response Coordinator in all volunteer training program in support of the Grief Support Program
Supports the training and evaluation of all ACCESS Operators
Coordinates and facilitates groups for the Peer Workforce Supportive Services program, including 6-8 week WRAP Groups, drop in groups, and quarterly expert groups
Fulfills needed shifts in ACCESS Program
Builds and maintains relationships with other organizations and agencies related to special programs
Maintains functional and productive relationship with the Clinical Consultants
Other duties as requested by the Executive Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate human services field or equivalent
Minimum three years experience in supervision and project management in a human-community services environment, preferably suicide prevention/crisis intervention and/or hotline services
WRAP facilitator strongly preferred
Experience in beginning new programs desirable
Experience working with public funding entities desirable
Strong interpersonal skills a must
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Budget management skills
Knowledge of San Francisco service provider referral resources a plus
Successful completion of training in suicide prevention/crisis intervention, grief counseling or equivalent a plus
Computer literate and familiar with computer information systems, networks and programs such as Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Office Suite as well as familiarity working on a Mac platform.
Able to work flexible hours (including evening, weekend and holiday hours as needed)
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Able to supervise and evaluate program staff and volunteers
Multi-task and solution-oriented

Supervision –

Reports directly to the Executive Director
Supervises 2 Program staff and volunteers (Grief Response Team Coordinator and ACCESS Coordinator)
