Position Summary
The Access-to-Care Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operation of HIV/STI prevention education program targeting individuals at high risk for HIV/STI infection and individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
FLSA Status: Exempt
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Responsible for implementing all aspects of the Womens Project
Provide HIV counseling and testing HIV rapid test technology.
Provide STI screening and linkage to treatment for individuals who tested positive for STIs.
Identify and establish collaboration with organizations for client recruitment and referral
Work collaboratively with other staff within and in other departments to recruit clients, and coordinate on access to care for clients
Recruit, hire, train and evaluate part time staff and volunteers.
Recruit and retain clients for multiple-session individual counseling for HIV/STI risk reduction.
Conduct educational workshops and trainings for women.
Conduct program evaluation activities and participate in quality improvement activities working closely with the program manager.
Meet requirements set by funding sources and by the agency, including timely submission of project reports and all required data entry.
Represent APICHA to articulate mission and services provided.
Any other activities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as behavioral science, social science, health, health education, social work required. Advanced degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience working with Asian and Pacific Islander women preferred
Familiarity with A&PI immigrant women issues is required. Familiarity with one of the following populations is preferred: Immigrants, People Living with HIV/AIDS, Sex Workers.
Ability to learn and implement behavioral science based activities, including individual risk reduction counseling
Ability to perform HIV screening using various technologies including finger stick.
Phlebotomy certificate is not required but desirable.
Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in one or more A&PI languages preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours including late night and weekends required.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in multi-disciplinary environment.
Creative, independent team player capable of working within an organizational structure.
Ability to use common office software required
