Administrative Coordinator – Seattle – Compass Housing Alliance

ABOUT THE POSITION: The Administrative Coordinator will provide intensive administrative support for the work of the Coalition and the Executive Director. They will ensure that Coalition staff have necessary physical and virtual resources and tools to carry out their work. The Coordinator provides key administrative support for the Executive Director and Coalition Board. This position is responsible for the planning and implementation of specific development and communications activities. An ideal candidate would excel at working as part of a small team, and knowing how to plan ahead and keep daily organizational activities running smoothly in the midst of changing priorities.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness (The Coalition) works collaboratively to ensure safety and survival for people who are homeless, and to end the crisis of homelessness in our region. Compass Housing Alliance (Compass) is the fiscal sponsor for the Coalition, and this position will be employed through Compass. Compass develops and provides essential services and affordable housing for homeless and low-income people in the greater Puget Sound region. LOCATION: Headquarters in Pioneer Square

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Days Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends

SALARY: DOE and within Compass ranges

QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate’s degree is strongly desired, Bachelor’s preferred in social work or related field or relevant, progressively responsible work experience, certificate and/or equivalent continuing professional development or education.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a paid or significant volunteer role in human/social services, membership or community-based organization, or other similar setting (e.g., service industry), desired.
1 or more years’ experience in a leadership-level administrative experience, including but not limited to scheduling, supporting leadership, drafting written materials, data entry, support of projects with multiple deadlines, or working with multiple stakeholders, desired.
Familiarity with issues of homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, and/or domestic violence, desired.
