Job description
This is a full time, permanent position in Seattle (South Park) Washington.
The AmeriCorps Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of Sea Mar’s AmeriCorp/Community HealthCorp program, which is funded by the National Association of Community Health Centers.
The successful applicant will be providing leadership in program development and implementation of required services.
The AmeriCorps Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of AmeriCorps grant management including, but not limited to; grant writing, fiscal management; progress reporting through national database; expanding community collaborations and funding base.
They are responsible for coordinating and implementing member and site supervisor trainings, service job descriptions, teambuilding activities, performance evaluations and service projects.
Applicant must enjoy working in a diverse and demanding professional environment that serves the medically underserved, balancing multiple demands and priorities, providing counseling/education/support, and exercising creativity to get things done.
This position will also oversee the Volunteer Services (volunteer, extern and intern placements) program and directly supervise the Program Coordinator.
The Applicant must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient related information and pass a criminal background check from the Washington State Patrol.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, the applicant must have and consistently demonstrate patience and have excellent customer service skills in the performance of all duties.
They must possess good organizational and time management skills, demonstrate good judgment, excellent problem-solving abilities and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
Applicant must have strong systems knowledge, including knowledge of public programs and local resources.
Able to work with diverse populations, establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, providers, and thepublic.
They must consistently demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to details, fluent in English and Spanish preferred, and able to read and write proficiently in both.
Legible handwriting required.
This person must be of good character and maintain confidentiality.
They need to be self-motivated and have an excellent work ethic, including the ability to work as part of a team and independently and must be able to work evenings/weekends as necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BA in Education, health or related degree and 3 years’ experience supervising or coordinating volunteers, community activities in a social service related field. AmeriCorp Programs experience is required.
They must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and in general computer use.
They will be able to effectively utilize data processing and spreadsheet computer software programs.
The applicant must have the ability to read and interpret complex documents, reports as well as data.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in either English or Spanish both orally and written.
The applicant must demonstrate proficient public speaking skills, exercise sound spelling, grammar and clear written communication.
