Overview of Position
The ideal candidate for this position is service-oriented and has a passion for community arts education. She or he understands how important it is that the students and faculty at Community Music Center feel valued and well-served.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Mission District Branch (MDB) Registrar, the Associate Registrar’s responsibilities include assisting with the registration activities for Community Music Center’s Mission District Branch and occasionally the Richmond District Branch (RDB). Working closely with the MDB Registrar, help implement procedures related to all aspects of student enrollment, scheduling and billing. Supervise front office work-study students. Close and secure the building on days working.
Registration:
• Welcome the general public and inform them of all of CMC programs.
• Assist Registrar with registration and student accounting through the ASAP system.
• Register students in person, over the phone and online.
• Receive and process student payments in person, over the phone and via online system ASAP.
• Contact absent students, check their accounts and inform the registrar about students who are behind of payments for further action.
• Act as a liaison between students and teachers.
• Assist faculty with scheduling.
• Rent instruments to students and enter instrument ID in the ASAP system.
Marketing:
• Organize work-study students to flier surrounding neighborhoods each quarter.
• Assist with flier and program review.
• Print fliers for the front desk and keep offering current.
Miscellaneous:
• Secure building on days working.
• Supervise front office work-study students.
• Maintain work-study time log and enter credit in the ASAP system.
• Assist Concert Hall Manager with the MDB Sunday Recitals.
• Assist Richmond District Branch Registrar occasionally with office coverage.
• Prepare daily mail and update postage meter.
• Order supplies for the Mission Branch staff.
• Maintain front office copies.
• Other duties as directed.
Qualifications
Administrative work experience in a non-profit and/or in the field of arts management is required
Commitment to Community Music Center goals
Strong service orientation with a friendly and helpful approach
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs and familiarity with database programs and web-based applications
Efficiency and attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects
Strong organization skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Sets the highest standard of personal excellence
Working Conditions
Full-time hourly position, 30+ hours per week, currently Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm to closing and Sunday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm though this will vary with some weekend and evening hours as needed. During Registration periods there will be a need to be flexible with adjusting work hours that accommodate those activities.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
